Our philosophy
A gelato that is born from the earth, respects people, and protects the planet. Four values that guide every decision we make.
Making gelato is not simply a trade.
It is an act of responsibility — towards the earth, towards people, and towards Italian culture.
Territory & Producers
Short supply chain, farmers known by name, fruit picked at peak ripeness. Our gelato begins with a direct relationship with the land of the Castelli Romani.
Inclusive Gelato
100% gluten-free, AIC certified. A gelato for everyone: those with intolerances, those with coeliac disease, those who simply want to eat something genuine without worry.
Environmental Sustainability
Compostable and recycled single-use materials. Every cup, every spoon, every bag is designed to leave the smallest possible mark on the planet that feeds us.
Italian Cuisine · UNESCO Heritage
Gastronomic gelato as a tribute to the culinary tradition of Rome and Italy. A contribution of added value to a culture recognised by the world.
The finest ingredients are chosen in the field.
In Frascati, in the Castelli Romani hills, daily contact with the countryside and the changing seasons is an integral part of our work. Dario Rossi knows every producer personally: he visits the fields, selects fruit at the peak of ripeness, and builds lasting relationships founded on trust.
No intermediaries. No ingredient whose origin we do not know. Only products of the Lazio and Italian territory, chosen with the same care a great chef brings to a great dish.
Carlo Noro · Organic strawberry grower
“We know every producer by name. Carlo grows the strawberries we use each spring — organic, local, picked at exactly the right moment.”
A gelato for everyone.
From the very first day we opened in 2004, GREED set out to make a gelato accessible to as many people as possible. Those with coeliac disease, those with food intolerances, those who simply pay attention to what they eat: everyone should be able to sit down and order with complete peace of mind.
Our entire production is gluten-free. GREED has been part of the certified gelateria network of the Italian Coeliac Association (AIC), operating under rigorous procedures with fully controlled ingredients.
100% Gluten Free — our entire production is free of gluten · AIC Certified
Selected natural ingredients — milk, cream, fresh eggs, fruit, sugar. No additives.

Respecting the planet that nourishes us.
The same attention we bring to sourcing our ingredients, we bring to the environmental impact of our work. Every material that comes into contact with our gelato is chosen to leave the lightest possible trace on the earth.
Cups, spoons, bags and packaging are compostable or recycled. This is not a symbolic gesture: it is a structural choice, woven into how we conceive the gelateria itself.
Compostable cups — all single-use containers are certified compostable. They return to the earth without leaving microplastics.
Recycled materials — bags, packaging and wrapping come from certified recovery and recycling supply chains.
Short supply chain — buying locally reduces transport emissions and supports the economy of the Castelli Romani territory.
Gelato as gastronomic culture.
Italian cuisine is an intangible cultural heritage recognised by UNESCO. GREED works every day to add value to this extraordinary tradition — translating the great dishes of Roman and Lazio cooking into flavours of gastronomic gelato.
Cacio e Pepe with Pecorino Romano DOP, Panzanella with Itrana extra virgin olive oil, Porchetta dei Castelli, Carbonara, Puntarelle e Alici: every flavour is a declaration of love for our culinary heritage. Not a gimmick — a cultural act.
In 2017, the Gambero Rosso recognised this work with the Special Prize for Best Gastronomic Gelato in Italy, awarded to “Fior di Mare” — sheep’s ricotta, courgette flowers and anchovies.
“A gelato that is good, wholesome and genuine. Born from agriculture, from the kitchen and from passion, with the aim of bringing joy to all who taste it.”
